This month I am participating in a blog circle with a group of very talented photographers. The blog circle is called 10 on the 1oth. We are going to share 10 pictures on the 10th of each month. This month my post is a little different than I am sure the future months will be. This month is extra special for me because of Mother’s Day. I choose 10 pictures that have a lot of meaning to me about my mom. For those of you that don’t know or are new to Erin Nisi Photography, my mom passed away in January due to a very unexpected and short fight with lung cancer. This is her Mother’s Day Card. I am still trying to figure out life without my mom and I thank you for letting me share this with you.
It’s hard to believe that in just a few short days we will be celebrating Mother’s Day without you. Every morning after I get the girls off to school I reach for my phone to call you to chat about nothing. I miss that so much! I know that this year will be hard for me to celebrate the one day of the year you let us fawn over you but I want you to know that is just what we plan on doing, celebrating you!
There are so many things to celebrate, your love, strength, compassion, creativity, strong will, and that I truly am the person I am today because of you. If it’s possible your sweet granddaughters seem to adore you even more now that you are their angel. I know you were worried they would forget you but their love for you has only grown stronger. Ava has told so many of her friends how lucky she is because she has an angel with her in Kindergarten, Emma told us that this year she won’t be scared to dance at her recital because she knows that you are going to be on stage with her, and Sofia insists that at night you are tickling her cheeks and that is why she can’t go to sleep.
I have always been proud to be your daughter, but this year I am especially proud. Mom you were once again faced with something challenging and you carried on as though nothing could stop you. You gave it your all and always had a smile on your face. Thank you for being the most amazing mom, teacher, and friend anyone could ever ask for. I hate that our time together was cut short here but I know that you are still right by my side and for that I am so very grateful.
I love you to the moon and back.
Happy Mother’s Day! XOXO
